Paul Anthony Dangelo, 77, of St. Clairsville, Ohio formerly of Franklin died unexpectedly on April 12, 2022. He was the husband of Verna (Zediker) Dangelo.
Born in Franklin, January 20, 1945, the son of the late William and Vera (Yadisernia) Dangelo, Paul had lived in Franklin for many years.
He was a 1963 graduate of Franklin High School.
Paul or “Paully” , was the youngest of nine children and he had worked as a boiler engineer at the Wrentham Developmental Center for many years.
Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of SP4 and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He enjoyed playing golf, doing crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, reading (especially about the Civil War) and cooking.
Paul loved children and spent much of his time playing with his grandson Johnny. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his quick wit.
He is survived by his wife Verna and her children, Tammy and her husband Keith Jackson of Washington, PA., Ralph “Chipper” Ritter and his wife Tausha of Martin’s Ferry, Ohio, Peggann McCort and her husband Mike of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Larissa Lowe and Brandon Bell of Cadiz, Ohio, and John Lowe and his wife Macie of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
He is also survived by his siblings, Gerald Dangelo of Franklin, and Evelyn Dangelo of Milford.
He was the brother of the late William, Raymond, John, James and Frederick Dangelo and Dorothy Arnold.
Paul is also survived 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 20th in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00. To view a livestream of the Mass: stmarysfranklin.org
