Walter Conner, Jr., 68, of Tifton passed away Monday, April 11, 2022. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Conner at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Crosland Baptist Church Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
Thomas Boyd, Daniel Boyd, Ronnie Boyd Jr., Kyle Brown, Morgan Stinton, Brandon Cannady and Ernest Lee Boyd Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 18, 1953, in Pitts, Mr. Conner was the son of the late Walter Conner, Sr. and Ida Pearly Akins Conner. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Davidson Conner; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence Foreman and Lois Darlene Foreman; and a son-in-law, Marvin Lee Lewis, Jr. He was employed by Tifton Peanut Company, and he was a member of Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County.
Mr. Conner is survived by his wife, Bessie Foreman Conner of Enigma; two sons, Jimmy Fred Coleman of Claxton and Kyle Allen Lewis Brown of Enigma; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Mamie Ruth and Ronnie Boyd of Enigma, Tristian (Darius) Forman, Tonya Lewis and Krustian Conner, all of Tifton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gaylon “Gail” and Wade Boland and Linda Marie and David Chastain, all of Cordele; a brother-in-law, James Foreman of Telfair County; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Ronnie and Ashley Boyd, Daniel and Lynn Boyd, Thomas Boyd, Linda Michelle Connor, Lee Bryant Lewis, Trey Riggins and Noah Coleman; four great-grandchildren, Danielle Boyd, Daniel Boyd Jr., Charles Dixon and Billy Dixon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
