Obituary

CHICOPEE – Marie Victoria “Vickie” (Paluski) Driscoll, 93, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, April 8, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Riverhead, Long Island, New York on July 10, 1928, a beloved daughter of the late Agnes Paluski. She was raised in Stoughton, Massachusetts and moved to Fairview in 1970 where she lived for the rest of her life. Vickie served her country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Airman Second Class. She received the National Defense Service Medal. She was employed for many years as a Mold Injector at Spalding Sports Worldwide in Chicopee. She was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society Holyoke/Connecticut. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her summers at the family camp in Poland, Maine and trying her luck at Foxwoods and MGM Springfield. Most of all, she was a determined and hardworking woman who loved her family and many friends. She leaves her two loving daughters, Michele Kivell and her husband, Hank Devlin, of Sandown, NH and Retired Massachusetts State Police Captain, Patricia A. Driscoll of Chicopee; her dear son in law, Kenneth Monteleone of Warrenton, VA; her six cherished grandchildren; her five cherished great grandchildren; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Retired Connecticut State Police Trooper, Thomas W. Driscoll who was Called Home on February 28, 2021; her two beloved daughters, Maureen Monteleone who was Called Home on September 7, 1996 and Kathleen Driscoll who was Called Home in 1956; and her former husband, Daniel F. Driscoll who was Called Home on March 6, 1996. Her family would like to thank the Holyoke Oncology Nurses and Staff for their compassion and care. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service with United States Air Force Military Honors will follow the Mass at 1p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
