Raymond Rose of Dartmouth, MA, passed away at home surrounded by his family and close friends on April 6, 2022. He was 98 years old.
He was the husband of Irene E. (Rogers) Rose. Born in Dartmouth on the family farm, son of the late John S. and Mary (Sylvia) Rose, he lived in Dartmouth all his life.
He was the proprietor of Rose Motors for many years. He truly loved being around cars, and had a special passion for antique cars. He loved gathering at ‘The Garage’ with his many friends. He also enjoyed traveling to many places with his family. One of his favorite trips was traveling across the country by train from San Francisco to New York with Irene.
He is survived by his wife; his son Raymond Rose Jr. and former wife Helene Rose; two step-daughters, Marcia Moreno and Rita Souza; his grandchildren Amy Herrmann and her husband Wayne, Beth Rose, Katherine Rose, Jason Souza, and Kristy Pollack and her husband Wayne; great-grandchildren Eoghan, Natalie, Henry, Evan, and Ethan; many other nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
He was the brother of the late Tony Rose, Sylvan Rose, Nicholas Rose, John Rose, Irene Surprenant, Vivian Menezes, and Mary Rego.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 11:30am at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Dartmouth, MA. Visiting hours will be on Monday, April 11th from 3-7pm.
