Obituary

Benjamin D. Templeton, MD, born to Benjamin C and Mary Lee Templeton in Casa Grande, Arizona. Ben was the youngest of five children. He attended La Sierra College where he met Lillie, his soon to be wife. They married in 1954 and over the next few years adopted four beautiful children, LuCindi, Marilee, Scott and Lindsey. Ben attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1960 and practiced Family Medicine in Tempe, Arizona with his brother, Floyd, for five years. Ben then decided to go into Psychiatry and moved to the Camarillo State Hospital to intern. During that time, the military drafted Ben and he was able to choose the Air Force. He was stationed in Taiwan where he moved his entire family. After returning to the States, he set up a practice in Thousand Oaks and lived in Camarillo. He attained a Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry. His children attended Linda Vista Jr. Academy where he and Lillie met Robert and Caroline Turner. Their children became friends and Ben, Lillie, Robert and Caroline also became friends. They traveled together and had a regular date to eat dinner at Lupe’s Mexican Restaurant every Friday night. In 1997 Ben’s daughter Marilee gave birth to twin boys, Benjamin and Brycen. They lived with Ben and Lillie from birth and were an important part of their life. Ben Retired his practice in Thousand Oaks in 2004 along with retiring as Chief Psychiatrist for the State of California Youth Authority. Lillie passed away in 2010 and Robert in 2009. Ben and Caroline continued their friendship and decided in 2012 to join their lives for the time they had remaining. Both families are united and mourn the loss of Ben. He was highly intelligent, kind, loving and looking forward to an eternity in Heaven. Ben leaves behind his wife Caroline, children, LuCindi Rader (Skeeter), Marilee Templeton, Scott Templeton and Lindsey Templeton (Martha). Grandchildren, Stephanie Byrd (Dillon), Lundon Klock (John), Lily Templeton, Ari White (Kyle), Benjamin Templeton and Brycen Templeton. Great Grandchildren, Gage Byrd, Reed Byrd, Eli White, Ofelia Klock, and Jubilee Klock. Private gravesite services will be held on April 23. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
