Edward W. Noone, age 89, of Brockton, died April 4, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Jean (McGillis) Noone for 68 years.
Ed was born in Brockton, raised in Stoughton and moved with his family to Brockton. A 1950 graduate of Brockton High School, Ed received his bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College in 1954. For many years, Ed was involved with his family’s shoe company Frank Noone Shoe in Rockland. After the company closed, he was a tutor for the Brockton Public School system until he retired at the age of 80.
Ed enjoyed golf and was a fan of all Boston sports. He coached his children’s youth teams and attended all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. He loved time spent with his grandchildren and always enjoyed pickup games with them.
To all who knew him, Ed will be remembered as an easy going and devoted man. He was always available for his family.
Ed was the father of Edward Noone Jr. (Dena) of Brockton, Patricia Noone of Brockton, David Noone (Roe) of Rockland, Deborah DiBiasio(late husband Joseph) of E. Bridgewater, John Noone (Judith) Bridgewater, Steven Noone (Francie), Joanne Shea (William) and Julie Anderson (Riner) all of Brockton and the late James Noone. He is survived by 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and was the brother of Robert Noone of Rockland, Walter Noone of Brockton, Linda Noone of Newton and the late Marjorie Murphy, Thomas, Richard, Kenneth and Lawrence Noone.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123), Brockton on Sunday April 10, 2022 from 3-6pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 for a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West Street, Brockton at 10:30am.
