Gertrude Ann (Standante) White, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Lowell General Hospital. She was 90 years of age.
Gertrude Ann was born in Boston on January 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Thomas Standante and Mary (Sullivan) Standante. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. She worked as a dental assistant for several years prior to becoming a Home Health Aide, where she devoted herself to taking care of people in need. Gertrude Ann loved visiting Castle Island in South Boston. She was an avid baker, who loved making her cakes. Above all else, Gertrude Ann devoted herself to her daughter Theresa and to her 4 grandchildren.
Gertrude Ann is the beloved wife of the late Bernard P. White. She is the devoted mother to her only child Theresa Honnellio and her husband Anthony. She is the loving Nana to Tyler and his wife Lydia, Tristan, Tameron, and Taylor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gertrude Ann's visiting hours on Friday morning April 8, 2022 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
