Obituary

Mrs. Jeanne C. (Ayotte) Stack, passed away peacefully at age 96, on December 14, 2021, with family by her side, at D'Youville Senior Care. She was born on July 30, 1925, the daughter of the late Donat and Regina (Cloutier) Ayotte. A lifelong resident of Lowell, she attended Lowell schools. After graduating from Lowell High School, class of 1945, she went on to attend Lowell General Nursing School, where she graduated with an RN in 1948. Prior to her retirement, she enjoyed a long nursing career, caring for many patients at hospitals and nursing homes throughout the region. Jeanne enjoyed many interests throughout her life. She loved music and dancing at the Commodore. She had various hobbies, such as oil painting, knitting, furniture refinishing and upholstery. She was a consummate storyteller and known for her homemade fudge and pear preserves. On a day off, she would often be found in Boston, either attending the theater, or shopping at Filene's Bargain Basement. She also enjoyed beach vacations and travels with family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs, having owned several throughout her life, and always enjoyed the various support animals who came to visit. Most of all she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Jeanne was predeceased by her son, Jay Stack, son-in-law, Stephen Fine, great-grandson, Ezra Stephen Fine, brother, Philip Ayotte and his wife Betty, She is survived by her daughter, Carol Stack Fine of Lowell, grandson, Julian Fine and his wife Dana Aronowitz of Washington, D.C., several nephews and cousins, as well as her lifelong friends Popi, Helen, and Nick Skames of Lowell. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to all who touched Jeanne's life at D'Youville Senior Care, Northwood Rehabilitation Center, Lowell Community Family Adult Day Care, as well as her many home health providers in recent years. Those wishing to donate in her memory are asked to consider supporting any of the many humanitarian organizations aiding Ukraine and the worldwide refugee crisis.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on April 29 at Four Oaks Country Club, Dracut, MA. Visitation 5-6 PM, Service at 6 PM, followed by dinner at 7 PM. RSVP to [email protected].
