Stephen M. Ribeiro, age 62, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully at home on Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Ann L. (Decato) Ribeiro, to whom he was wed on February 24, 2008.
Born in Taunton, MA on January 8, 1960, he was the loving son of the late August M., Jr. and Shirley A. (Wellman) Ribeiro.
Steve grew up in Norton and was 1978 graduate of Norton High School. He furthered his education, graduating with an associate degree from Dean Junior College and a bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University.
At the time of his death, he was employed as a cook at the Village of Willow Crossing in Mansfield. He had previously worked for the Teamsters Union Local 25 for 30 years and when younger at his family’s businesses, the Country Haven Nursing Home In Norton and at Ribeiro’s Restaurant (formerly Frates), also in Norton.
Steve loved spending time with his adoring family and was a devout Catholic, faithful to his religion. He absolutely enjoyed the many years spent at Buttermilk Bay on Cape Cod and taking to the water in his classic Boston Whaler “Sport 13”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted sisters Brenda A. Ribeiro of Norton and Diane E. Furtado and her husband Steven of Norton. He was the cherished uncle of Tyler Furtado of Norton and is also survived by his stepson John A. Storrs of Meredith, New Hampshire, as well as his loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, April 7th from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 12:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Norton Common Cemetery in Norton.
