Obituary

Christopher A. Mello “Homer” age 54, of Brockton, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at The Guardian Center in Brockton.

Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of Elaine H. (Good) Mello and the late Ronald W. Mello.

He graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School and participated in the masonry program.
Homer worked as a mason for many years. He loved baseball, WWE wrestling, riding lawnmowers and driving his Chevy Silverado truck. An avid sports fan, he liked the New England sports teams but most of all loves spending time with his children. Chris was a good-hearted person who worked hard and loved coaching his children’s baseball teams. His children bought him much joy.

He is survived by his two children, Hannah and Anthony Mello, of New Mexico; a grandson; and his siblings, Melissa L. Mello, of Taunton, Derek P. Mello, of Fall River, Scott Mello, of Brockton, Marlee C. Medico, of Georgia, Rhonda L. Cottrell, of Georgia, and Rory A. Labate, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Homer was the brother of the late Keith G. Mello and Brian D. Labate

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Homer’s family on Monday, April 4, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 9:30am, for a funeral service at 10:00 am, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
