Glennis Mae (Valentine) Fallica, age 96, formerly a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2022. She was the beloved wife for almost 40 years of Philip J. Fallica, until his death in 1983.
Born in Aredale Township, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Ralph M. and Nora Mae (Sanford) Valentine. One of twelve children, she was raised and educated in Iowa, and met the love of her life, Phil, by chance when she was his waitress in an Italian restaurant in Tacoma, WA, while he was on leave from the Army during WWII.
A fantastic housecleaner and cook, Glennis loved to dance, play cards and attend her annual family reunions in Iowa; but nothing brought her more joy than her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.
Glennis is lovingly survived by her children: Anna Cleare of Alexandria, LA, Sara Fallica of Reading, Lena Jean Fallica of Woburn, Noreen Karis of Ballston Lake, NY, JoAnn Fallica and Joseph Fallica, both of Lynn. She was the devoted grandmother of Glenna, John, Patrick, Salvatore, Peter, Mark, Maria, Anthony, Kristen and Michelle, and is further survived by 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Visitation at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, April 5, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 11AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
