Obituary


Pauline “NANA” O’Connell Age 68, of Bourne passed away peacefully Saturday March 26, 2022 with her family by her side, after complications from Lupus.

Born to the late Albert J Leblac and Claire Leblanc. The youngest of two sisters Pauline grew up in Boston Ma. Here is where she met the love of her life at a dance, the Late Kevin G O’Connell. They later Married Aug 29, 1971. The couple was married happily for 51 yrs. On March 22, 1972 the couple welcomed a Daughter Kerry. They purchased a home in Caver, MA. Here is where the couple developed lifelong friendships that grew to be family. In 1984 the couple found a home in Bourne, while camping at Scusset Beach. The home overlooked the Cape Cod Canal in which they both had a love for. They decided to make it their forever home. Pauline spent much of her time renovating the home, which she took great pride in.

Pauline started her professional life with Plymouth Savings Bank, She later retired after 20 yrs of service. Her true passion was decorating and designing new spaces. She often spent her time volunteering at Joanne’s Consignment Shop. Here is where she could express her many talents and creativity. She also created friendships that she cherished dearly.

The job she considered to be the best in the world, was that of Nana. Pauline was very devoted to her Grandchildren you would often see her at school picking them up and volunteering her time. Down the road she was lucky enough to be able to do the same for her Great Grandchildren. You could find her sharing their photos on facebook many times a day, Nana took great pride in caring for them on a daily basis.

Pauline was known as everyone's Nana. Many have said she always made them feel included and treated them like family. She had the biggest heart and gave everyone a special place in it.

She is survived by her Daughter and Son In Law Kerry and Jared MacDonald of Bourne, her grandchildren Patrick MacDonald and his wife Amber of Bourne and Meagan Bertram and her husband Derek of Middleboro; her 7 great grandchildren Patrick Jr, Lily, Jackson, Peyton, Collin, Charlotte and Andrew. Her special Nieces Kaitlyn MacDonald, Ashley Withers, Nephews Michael and Roy Groux, Niece Susan Groux.

She was predeceased by her husband Kevin G. O’Connell, her Sister and brother in law Carol and Roy Groux.

Services will be Sunday, April 10th, at 1:00 pm at St Peter’s Church in Buzzards Bay, Ma followed by a celebration of life at the Mezza Luna in Buzzards Bay, Ma.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the March of Dimes in her name.
