United States Marine Veteran

TEWKSBURY: Richard F. Levin, age 82, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, passed away surrounded by his loved ones in the comfort of his home on Saturday March 26th, 2022.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 5, 1940, he was the son of the late Charles and Katherine Levin.

Richard is survived by his wife Grace Grasso-Levin, whom with he shared a beautiful 61 and a half years of marriage, as well as his daughter Christina Shea, of Barnstead, NH, his five grandchildren Matthew Shea, Amanda Manning, Ashley Hubbard, Shannon Hubbard, and Timothy Shea, and his seven great-grandchildren, Logan Manning, Maci Manning, Griffin Rogers, Lucas Manning, Matthew Shea, Daniel Zannerini and Maddox Davis. Richard was also survived by his brother Joseph Levin, and sister-in-law, Eleanor, of Boston, Catherine Zannerini of Tewksbury, his brother and sister in law Anthony and Marguerita Sasso, of Tewksbury, and was the brother to the late Patricia Pothier, and her husband Harold, and the late Skippy Levin and Francis Levin. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom he loved and adored.

After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps; he was very proud to be a Marine and enjoyed visiting places like the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia.

Prior to his retirement, Richard had many careers and worked in several industries. He was a man of many talents. He was the proud owner of several Sunoco gas stations, he was a gifted and talented automotive technician, he spent many years working at Stop and Shop exceling in various positions and he worked in the technology field at Altron in Wilmington.

Richard found joy in his hobbies of computer technology, flight simulation programs, giving rides to the children in the family on his John Deere mower, and he was happiest when spending time with his family. Richard will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, his love for his family, his vast knowledge and intelligence, and his ability to light up a room with his contagious smile.

Calling hours are Monday, April 4th, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, followed by a brief service in the same location. Services will conclude at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Rd, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, please honor Richard’s memory by donating to K9’s for Warriors/114 Camp K9 Road, Ponte Vedra, FL 32081.
