Isidro Cervantes “Chico” Yanez, 88, of Santa Paula, California, went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2022. Isidro was born in Watts, California to Raymond and Cruz Yanez on May 16, 1933. He went to Washington High School in Watts, California. He served in the U.S. Air Force and afterwards, married the love of his life, Lucy on April 27, 1957. He worked Facilities Maintenance at Santa Paula High School for 30 years, before retiring.
Chico was a man of faith, loved the Lord and loved his family with his whole heart. His grandkids and great grandkids were his pride and joy. Chico and his “truck” were well known in the Santa Paula community. No matter where he went, someone always knew him. Chico had a beautiful soul and a heart of gold. Everyone he met was “Mija’ or “Mijo”. He made everyone feel like family. He was a proud Air Force vet and enjoyed talking about his many experiences and stories to his family. He was a “beach bum” at heart, loved his music, loved to dance, loved the Lakers, Dodgers and Rams and was so happy to see all three of his teams win a championship in the past couple years.
He has truly left an impact on so many lives by the kindness and love he showed to everyone. His strong faith, love, and positivity will resonate with his children and grandchildren/great grandchildren forever.
Isidro is survived by his wife, Lucy Yanez of Santa Paula; children, Randy Yanez (Maria, Sara), Denise Velez (Ivan); grandchildren, Joshua Yanez (Natalie), Dustin Yanez (Cristal), Shane Velez, Kiani Velez; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Nathaniel, Charlotte, Aiyana, Anevay, Brody; several nieces and nephews; brothers, Johnny Yanez and Graciano Yanez, sister Lupe Yanez.
