Cyndi L. Libby, 62, of Abington, Massachusetts passed unexpectedly on March 26.
A lifelong Abington resident, Cyndi graduated from Abington High in 1978, and attended Northeastern University prior to beginning her career as an administrative assistant.
She loved spending time with family, visiting the ocean, getting lost in a book, listening to Jimmy Buffet, playing games, attending concerts with friends, dancing her heart out, and celebrating all holidays, even the made-up ones.
Cyndi was the baby of the family, named by her beloved sister. She inherited a love of the ocean from her mother, and her desire to serve from her father. She was most proud of her years teaching Sunday School at the United Church of Christ in Abington, coaching Abington Youth Soccer, and caring for her parents. She previously volunteered at Camp Hope and for Look Good Feel Better, working with patients with cancer, another cause dear to her heart.
Cyndi was a lover of animals and organizations honoring them, particularly K9 service members and black cat adoption. She will be missed by her two black cats, "Fluff and Nutter", whom she rescued and loved wholeheartedly.
Cyndi is survived by her siblings Robert Libby of Abington, James (and Marge) Libby of North Carolina, Marjorie Libby of Abington, and Kenneth (and Denise) Libby of Whitman, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Ruth C. Libby, and her cherished niece, Kendra Coburn.
Services will be held at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the rotary) Whitman, on Saturday, April 2. Visiting hours will be from 3 to 6pm, with a funeral service immediately following.
