Samuel J. Valentine Sr. passed away on November 25, 2021 in Anderson, Indiana at the age of 93.
He was born on September 14, 1928 in Bridgeton, Raccoon Township, Indiana to Samuel and Alma Valentine. He served in the U.S. Navy after high school and later began a long-standing career at Delco Remy. This led him to New Venture Gear where he remained through retirement. He enjoyed numerous passions including farming and livestock, writing personal narratives and building model aircraft.
He joins in eternal rest his father and mother, wife of 60 years Loretta (Dell) Valentine, brothers Richard Valentine and Philip Valentine, sisters Norma Jean Hough and Margaret Zeldes, son Samuel (Jacob) Valentine and daughter Susan Reed.
He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Farran, daughter Shelley Valentine, 7 grandchildren: Emily (Thomas) McAlister, James (Marci) Robbins, Daniel Robbins, Amanda Hudson, Amelia (Shelton) Sims, Matthew Robbins and Sarah (Mike) Perry; 11 great grandchildren: Derek Hudson, Leandra Hudson, Jacob Hart, Kaleb Robbins, Lily Robbins, Lauryn Robbins, Jacob Sims, Zoe Jones, Isaac Jones, Amarre Mills and William Robbins and 7 great-great grandchildren: Peniel, Tieshawn, Victoria, Ava, London, A’mirra and Seven; and several nieces and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family on April 2, 2022.
