Dorothea Marie Wilson, 86, of Tifton passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, in Valdosta. Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2022, at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church and will be co-celebrated by Rev. Alfonso Gutierrez and Rev. Peter Oyenugba, MSP. Mrs. Wilson will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bowen- Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born May 22, 1935, in the French Quarter of Madras, India, Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late William Mortimer Brown and Lucille Noelle Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leslie Herbert Wilson. She was a member of Our Divine Savior Catholic Church.
During her life, she was a homemaker, a much-loved child caregiver, Granny, Mum, Sister, Aunt and good friend to many, many people. Her actual family and those who loved her span four continents. She will be hugely missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Jane Wilson of Copthorne, England, Peter and Sarah Wilson of Harbury, England and Andrew and Rachel Wilson of Peachtree City; one daughter, Lesley Roach of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Gail Brown of Purley, England; one sister, Geraldina Scharenguivel of Indore, India; two sisters-in-law, Mary Wilson of Stone Mountain and Maggie Wilson of Llantwit Major, Wales; ten grandchildren and their partners, Paul and Bryony Wilson, Simon and Anna Wilson, Robert and Jess Wilson, Lizzie and Tom Foster, Christian Paucar, Jacob Wilson, Grace Wilson, Lucy Roach, Catherine Roach and Lilly Roach; and seven great-grandchildren, Bella, Isla, Jacob, Adele, Harriet, Oliver, and Luna.
