Mary Margaret “Nani” Chasse, 89, of Derry, NH, passed away Sunday March 27, 2022, in the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH. She was born on April 27, 1932, in Medford, MA, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria Catherine (Toscana) Annaloro and had been a resident of Derry for the past 22 years.
Being kind and generous to a fault, Mary often donated to many different charities. Nani was the quintessential Italian woman, and she loved her God, family and cooking. She was a woman of strong faith and a follower of God. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas in Derry. Mary always made her family her top priority and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and siblings. She loved being at the beach and near the ocean. In more recent years, she enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins games with her son Steven. Another passion Mary had was cooking and she will be forever remembered for her famous meatball recipe.
She is survived by her son, Steven Delpidio and his wife Elizabeth of Derry; three granddaughters, Ashley Delpidio, Amanda Delpidio, and Nicole Delpidio; one sister, Helen Lewis of CA, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lawrence Chasse, four sisters, Rose Gilliberti, Aida Leone, Mildred Valiquette and Jean Notarangeli; and a brother, Ernest Annaloro.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday April 1, 2022, at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. The burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery, Marsh Road, Pelham, NH. Those wishing to be in the procession to the cemetery, should meet at the funeral home at 8:30am.
