Meredith Warren Fry, PE, 98, formerly of Harter House in Anderson, slipped away quietly to be with friends and family on March 25, 2022 at Miller's Merry Manor.
Meredith was born March 9, 1924 in Peerless, Indiana to Ruby Estelle (Jackson) Fry and Cornelius Alexander Fry. Meredith was the eldest of 10 children.
Meredith graduated from Marshall Township Needmore High School in 1941. He served as a Navy Corpsman with the 1st Marine Division during World War II. He graduated from Tri-State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1952. Meredith received a Master of Arts in economics from Ball State University in 1985. After graduating from Tri-state he was employed by the Missouri Highway Department, Indiana State Highway Commission, City of Muncie Engineer, and Ball State University.
Meredith was an Elder Emeritus Chesterfield Christian Church, a member of the Daleville Lodge number 730 F&AM Daleville Indiana.
Meredith is survived by his son, Owen Fry of Anderson; sister, Verna Younger Slater of Bedford; brother, John Nathan Fry of Indianapolis; grandson, Marc Owen (Cody Dash) Fry of Chesterfield; two great-granddaughters, Alana J. Fry and Haylee K. Fry and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Henley in 2013; sons, Robert Dale Fry and Marvin Lee Fry; daughter-in-law, Teresa (Lewellyn) Fry; grandson, John Alan Fry; siblings, Mary Etta Rainy, Morris E. Fry, Gerald D. Fry, Esther May Fry, David L. Fry, P. Lavon Fortner and Donna C. Hagen.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Chesterfield Christian Church with Ned Clark officiating. Meredith will be entombed in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Chesterfield Christian Church Joseph Coat Fund or United Faith Housing.
