Orval Melvin “Bo” Eaton, 86, of Tifton passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at his residence. A graveside service will be held for Mr. Eaton at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at Lenox City Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Eaton’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 25, 1936, in Dooly County, Mr. Eaton was the son of the late Hubert Eugene Eaton and Lottie Ruth Womack Eaton. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Eaton and Ronnie Eaton; three sisters, Sarah Register, Jean Arnold and Ruthie Lee Eaton; and the mother of his children, Jeanette Gibbs Eaton. Before retiring, he worked for R. G. Fresh Gas Company for many years. He was the founder of Eaton’s Lock Service, known as Tri-State Lock and Safe and he was also the founder of Eaton’s Ornamental Concrete. He never met a stranger; he loved fishing; and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a long-time member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God and was instrumental in the founding of Tifton Christian Developmental Institute/Noah’s Ark at Tifton’s First Assembly of God.
Mr. Eaton is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Diane Eaton of North Carolina, David and Tami Eaton, Kenny and Trudy Eaton and Bruce and Kerri Eaton, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Scott Bell of Tifton; his siblings, Clyde Eaton, Myrtice Casey, Sylvia Eaton, Tony Eaton and Gayle Baker; sixteen grandchildren, Ricky Eaton, Tim Eaton, Laura Clements, Leann Ashworth, Jamie Eaton, Sam Eaton, CharLee Eaton, Kenny Eaton, Brittany Brooks, Troy Eaton, Dustin Eaton, Haley Newsome, Hannah Newsome, Summer Eaton, Autumn Eaton and Brooke McBrayer; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ange Davis
