Melissa J. Kane, age 47, of Hyannis, formerly of Falmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth.
Born in Weymouth, MA on September 5, 1974, she was a loving daughter of Michael J. Kane, Sr. and his partner Doris Freeman of Attleboro and the late Marilyn J. Sanborn.
Melissa grew up in Scituate and Mansfield and was a 1992 graduate of Mansfield High School. She had worked in various capacities at Panera Bread in the Teaticket section of Falmouth and was previously employed at the former Cosi Restaurant in Mansfield.
Melissa’s family and friends were truly the focal point of her life and she treasured the times spent at the beach and playing cards. She will always be remembered for her remarkable sense of humor and especially for making others around her laugh.
In addition to her father and his partner, she is survived by her devoted son Christopher Goodwin and his father Robert Goodwin of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Michael J. Kane, Jr. of Maine and the adoring aunt of Laurilly Kane of Taunton and Aiden Kane of Taunton. She is also survived by her loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 30th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will be private.
