Pamela “Pammy” Ruth Holsback Burkhart, 79, of Ventura CA passed away peacefully at her home on March 5, 2022, after a 2-year battle with ovarian cancer. Pammy was born to Charles and Natalie Holsback on May 19, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA.
She graduated from John Muir High School in 1960 and Pasadena City College in 1962. She went on to work as a secretary for the L.A. County Engineering Department where she met David Burkhart. They were married in 1967 and moved to Ventura in 1971 where she worked at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and School for 14 years.
Pammy loved reading, crossword puzzles & spending time with her family especially going on trips to Oregon, Yosemite & Florida. Pammy was a kind and loving mother, wife, and friend. She showed kindness to everyone she met.
Pammy is survived by her husband of 54 years, David, their daughter, Christine and granddaughter, Natalie both of Ventura, and her sister, Corliss Tyler, of North Hutchinson Island, Florida. And of course, their cat, Bella.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Kevin Chang and the entire staff at Ventura County Hematology Oncology Specialists, Dr. Robert Warwar and staff, Dr. Lamar Bushnell, and staff as well as the wonderful staff at Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice. Thank you to all of them for their tremendous care and dedication.
The family would also like to thank all the wonderful friends and family for their continued support and love during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
Memorial services will be held later this year.
