Italia (Novelli) Liambo, age 94, of Cambridge and Winchester, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Liambo.
Born in Salerno, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Umberto and Antonietta (LaPeruta) Novelli. She was raised, educated and married, and had two daughters while living in Italy.
She and Antonio came to the United States in 1971 with their children and settled in Cambridge. After many years and the passing of her husband, she moved to Winchester to be closer to her family. Italia worked as a Health Aide for Cambridge City Hospital, prior to that she worked at the Forecaster Company. Although she enjoyed cooking and sewing, the most important thing to her was always her family. She loved to entertain her grandchildren during the weekly "Nonna Night" dinners.
Italia is lovingly survived by her children: Alfonsa and her husband Tom Gross, Cinzia and her husband Neal Chansky, all of Winchester. She is further survived by her devoted grandchildren: Antonio, Juliana, Alexander and Samuel, and many nieces and nephews on both continents.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 28 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Burial will follow at Cambridge City Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Ave., Cambridge. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
