Paul C. Curran
Korean War Army Veteran
TEWKSBURY: Paul C. Curran, age 87, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial V.A. Hospital in Bedford on Monday, March 21, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret M. (Dolan) Curran, who passed away September 20, 2010.
Born in Boston on October 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Patrick Curran and the late Catherine G. (Hartman) Curran.
Paul was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School.
In 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and serviced during the Korean War era with the 2nd Armored Tank Division. He was awarded the Occupation Medal (Germany) and the Good Conduct Medal for his active-duty service.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for over 20 years for the U.S. Postal Service at the South Boston Postal Annex.
During his retirement years, Paul and his late wife provided a place to stay and a home cooked meal and transportation services to less fortunate veterans.
He was a member of the Lowell V.F.W. Walker Rogers Post and the Tewksbury American Legion.
Paul will be fondly remembered for his outgoing personality and love for visiting Hampton Beach.
Paul was the brother of Stephen M. Curran and his wife Patricia, of Chelmsford, Gertrude A. Mazza and her husband Jim, of Tewksbury, and the late Virginia Giacobbe and Joseph Curran: He leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Calling hours are Monday, March 28, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude at Westlawn Cemetery, II, 305 Boston Road, Lowell.
