Obituary

Worcester: After a period of declining health and with his daughters at his side, Roger Haroyan left this world on March 21, 2022 , to join his wife Eva who died in 2005.

Roger was born on November 12, 1933 in Marseilles France to parents Kirkor Haroyan and Mary Der Torosian Haroyan Barsamian. Following the end of World War II, he and his mother emigrated to the United States settling in Whitinsville MA with his mother’s family, eventually finding his way to Worcester. Roger served in the Army during the Korean War and always maintained membership in the American Legion. He received an Associates Degree in accounting from Becker Junior College. He loved to golf and was a long time member of the Armenian golf group, Hye Hackers, enjoying years of Sunday golf outings with his buddies. Roger worked over forty years as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his daughters Mary Haroyan and Nona Haroyan with whom he lived, his Aunt Alice Sagherian of Whitinsville, special family members Debbie Simonian Blanchard and husband Andy, several cousins, nephews and nieces. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, George Haroyan, sister Sarah Barsamian Nadjarian and stepfather Kirkor Barsamian.

Roger’s daughters would like to thank the compassionate attention provided by VNA Care Network and Hospice, especially from nurse Helen.

At Roger’s behest there will be no calling hours or services. For anyone wishing to remember Roger, please consider making a donation to a charity or organization close to your heart, as he did. Thank you Dad for always trying to be the best father you could be.
