Nelson Ramsay, 71, of Methuen passed away peacefully Friday, March 18, 2022 at his home. Born in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Amadee Ramsay. Nelson is survived by his mother Dorothy Hudson, twin sister Lynne Ramsay and her life partner Ivan Dove, brothers Ronald Girard and Leonard Girard and his wife Margie, sisters Carol (Girard) Alakel and Sandra (Girard) Lamirande, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Nelson graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA in 1969. He also attended Northern Essex Community College. He worked at Crown, Cork and Seal in Lawrence, MA for 35 years as a forklift driver and retired due to disability. He was also past president, chief steward and secretary and of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union - Local 1271. Nelson loved animals and made frequent donations to animal rescue organizations, Central Catholic High School and MADD. The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to one of the following charities in Nelson's honor:
