CORNISH- Geraldine Marston Smith, "Geri Smith", age 77, passed away on March 20, 2022.
She was born in Portland, Maine on January 15, 1945. She was the daughter of the late
Delma Lawrence Smith Sr. and Ina Mae Frost Smith. She graduated from Porter High School.
She worked from the age of 14 until just a few years ago when Alzheimer’s took that away from her.
She loved dancing and laughing with her friends Betty King, Marilyn Anderson, and the late
Russell Murray and Wesley Candage. She loved to read and would read a book a day. She loved to travel especially to Aruba.
She is predeceased by brothers, Paul Albert Smith, Delma Lawrence Smith Jr, "Tinka",
John Wayne Smith, and sisters, Caroline Smith, Catherine Smith Grant and Rae Arlene Smith Chase.
Geri is survived by her husband, Bruce A. Smith of Cornish, her brother Steven Smith and his
wife Ramona Smith of Cornish, and sister-in-law, Lottie Smith of Kezar Falls. Her children,
Dori Ann Coolbroth of Cornish, Christopher A. Coolbroth and his wife Dawn Talbot Coolbroth
of Cornish, Pam Fernald Keefer of Elliott and her "favorite child", Aaron Joseph Hutton of
Cornish. Her daughter Dori says she was really the favorite, but Aaron disagrees.
Grandchildren, Marissa Keith, Vincent Richards, Austin Hutton, Decklin Hutton, Damian Hutton, Ashley Emery,
Olivia Coolbroth, Evan Coolbroth, Jeremy R. MacRitchie, Travis D. Keefer and Tyler Keith.
Great grandchildren, Archer MacRitchie, age 5, Alice MacRitchie. age 3, Waylon Keefer, age
10 months. Stepsons, Christopher Smith and wife Lisa of Lancaster, California, and Jeff Smith and wife
Meagan of Baldwin. Step grandchildren, Destiny Smith, Jessica Smith, Christopher Smith Jr.,
Christiana Smith, Abel Smith, Chiann Smith, Divinity Smith, Killian Smith, and Jaden Boston.
Step great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Calissa, and Amelia.
A graveside service is planned for May 1st at noon at South Hiram Cemetery.
