Eva (Carlson) Martinelli, 94, of Worcester died Friday, March 18th in Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 23 years, Ralph Martinelli, Sr. died in 1981. She leaves two sons, Ralph A. Martinelli, Jr. of Worcester, and John L. Martinelli of Mapleton, Maine; a daughter, Anna M. DeAngelo and her husband, Joseph of Auburn; two granddaughters, Crystal and Charissa; three great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Adolph, Philip, Eric, Alvar, and Elmer.
She was born in Worcester the daughter, of Gustaf and Hanna (Sandstrom) Carlson and attended the former Commerce High School. Eva worked at O’Coins Department Store for 15 years in the domestic’s department and prior to getting married she worked at Worcester City Hospital. She loved reading, traveling, playing bingo and watching her gameshows. Eva cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her granddaughters, great grandsons and close friends, Patricia Bulak and Ralph and Peg Amidon.
Her visitation is Thursday, March 24th from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Knollwood Nursing Center, 87 Briarwood Circle, West Boylston, MA 01583.
