LEICESTER – Teresa S. (Parzych) Milewski, 87, of Leicester, and formerly of Worcester, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Zbójna, Poland on June 20, 1934. Teresa was the daughter of the late Jan and Czeslawa Parzych. She and her family came to the United States in December of 1961. They proudly became US citizens in 1967. During that time, Teresa worked as a seamstress at Paul Hats, then worked at PresMet for over 20 years. While working hard to provide for her family, she was also able to help other Polish families immigrate to the United States to begin their new lives.
Teresa was a long-time member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in Worcester, where she was a proud member of the Źywy Różaniec, and monthly Boże Ciało.
Teresa was a loving wife, mother, babcia and pra-babcia. Babci loved nothing more than spending time with her family and watching her great-grandchildren grow. She was predeceased by her husband Zygmunt Milewski, whom she was married to for 41 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, William Milewski and his wife, Dawn of Spencer; her daughter Diane Mercadante and her husband, Querino (Merk) of Leicester; and 4 granddaughters, Amanda Whittemore and her husband, Jim of Leicester, Dianah Butterfield and her husband, Ian of Rutland, Brenda Mercadante-Fox and her husband, David of Oxford, and Tina Arel and her husband, Mark of Savannah, Georgia. Teresa also had 11 great grandchildren whom she adored; Elyse, JB, Maeve, Ainsley, Colton, Brooke, David, Eric, Tiffany, Charlie and Rachal.
A private funeral service was held for the family, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at a later date.
