James A. Schena, Jr., age 71, of Medford passed away on Thursday, March 17th, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Boston. Born in Somerville, he was raised and educated in Medford, the son of the late James A. and Margaret (D'Angelo) Schena. James worked for many years as a Respiratory Therapist at Children’s Hospital before opening Tufts Tobacco shop in East Boston.
James was the beloved husband of Linda (Sirignano) Schena, and the devoted father of Jessica Schena Bellino, both of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of Paul James Bellino and James Anthony Bellino of Medford, and the dear brother of Robert Schena and his wife Christine of Salisbury and the late Rose Schena. James was the cherished uncle of Christian Schena and his wife Amy of Methuen, and Renee Ward and her husband Jason of Wilmington. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews: Ethan, Lauren and Rachelle Schena, and Jackson, Dylan, Anna and Lucas Ward.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, March 22nd at 5 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 3 through 7 PM. Interment will be private.
