Obituary

James J. Blaine III, 47, of Whitman, Massachusetts died at home on March 15 after a lifelong illness of Type I diabetes. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1974 the son of James J. Blaine Jr. and Joyce (Morrison) Blaine. He graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in 1993 and attended UMass Dartmouth before beginning his career with his Component Assembly Systems family. He worked for 25+ years, working his way up to Safety Supervisor.

Jimmy loved and adored his children. Some of his favorite times were watching Hayden bake and savoring the “fruits” of her labor or joining James outside for a game of basketball. Their favorite summer pastime was spending the day at the pool.

He was a passionate Boston sports fan. He loved watching games with friends and collecting sports memorabilia. He enjoyed card nights with the boys including Wayne Cousins, who was not only a cousin but a lifelong best friend and Shane Murphy, another lifelong best friend and true support through the many challenges life threw his way.

He was the brother of Jill (Blaine) Burns of Kingston. He leaves behind two children Hayden and James J. Blaine IV, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 pm at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Whitman, Massachusetts. Burial will be private at a later date.
