Connolly, Bridget “Bridie” died peacefully at home in Dedham, Massachusetts on March 16, 2022 at the age of 72. Born Bridget Philomena Curran on October 1, 1949 to Cornelius and Mary Ann (Quirke) Curran in County Tipperary, Ireland, Bridie moved to Glenbeigh, County Kerry as a young girl in 1954. The second of nine siblings, she grew up in a small house near the sea, leaving home at age 14 to seek work in Dublin. In 1967, she emigrated to the US, settling with an aunt in Dorchester, Massachusetts. In 1970, she met Patrick Joseph Connolly and they were married soon after. She is survived by their three children: Donna Morrill and her husband Paul of Dedham, Kevin Barry Connolly and his wife Catherine of Cambridge and Ann Connolly and her fiance Glenn Forti of Weymouth, as well as granddaughters Kayla Morrill and Katie Morrill. In addition, Bridie is survived by her siblings Michael Curran of Killorglin, Patrick Curran of Glenbeigh, Margaret O’Connor of Glencar, Lucy O’Connell of Glenbeigh and Maureen Sheridan of Hays, Middlesex, England. Her sisters Ann and Noreen and brother Nelius predeceased her.
Visiting hours will be Saturday, March 19 from 9:30am to 10:45am at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High Street in Dedham, to be followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s of the Assumption, 25 Avery Street, Dedham at 11:15am. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
