Robert Michael "Bob" Barnard, 73, of Anderson, died March 16, 2022 at his residence, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born August 16, 1948 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Harry Oliver and Catherine Marie (Durkovic) Barnard. He graduated from Ashtabula High School and got his associate degree in nursing at Kent State University. He served during Vietnam from 1967-1969 and was an Army Reserve nurse and officer from 1986-1996. He adored his grandchildren.
He was a registered nurse for 40 years at both Community and St. John's Hospitals in Anderson and attended Madison Park Church of God.
He is survived by his three sons Jacob Michael (Shawna Dawn) Barnard of Greenwood; Stephen Christopher (Heather Rachelle) Barnard of Columbus and David Patrick Barnard of Anderson; three grandchildren, Isabella Grace Barnard, Sophia Kathryn Barnard and Samuel Michael Barnard and one on the way; five siblings, Shirley Elizabeth Burns of Doylestown, Ohio, Harriett June Mathieu of Ashtabula, Ohio, Kathleen Julia (Frank) Fisher of Walbridge, Ohio, John Roy Barnard of Ashtabula, Ohio and Caroline Blanche (Richard) Rice of Jefferson, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings, Anna Marie Leonard, Harry Oliver Barnard, Jr., James Henry Barnard, Richard Lee Barnard, Naomi Ruth Welker and Judy Lynne Barnard.
Services will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service West chapel with Pastor Josh Stegall officiating with Military rites and Nurses Honor Guard. Burial will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
