Margarita (Marga) Jimenez Velasco, 85 of Ventura, CA passed away at her home in Ventura on March 15, 2022 surrounded by her loving husband and children. Margarita was born in CD. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Cruz Velarde and Francisco Jimenez. She graduated from Abraham Gonzales secondary school in Chihuahua where she earned an associates degree in accounting. She was super witty, an exceptional cook who loved to be surrounded constantly by her extended family. She always had something delicious prepared to feed anyone who happened to drop by. She loved to listen to music, dance and enjoyed birds of all shapes and sizes. She also loved to travel with close friends and family.
Margarita is survived by her husband of 70 years, Avelardo Velasco; her sons Rogelio (Rosa), Junior (Michelle), George (Marisol), Fred (Melissa), Jose Guadalupe; daughters Estela (Louis), Goni (Jose) and Cruz (Javier); grandchildren Carol, Roger Jr, Adriana, Andrea, Gabriel, Sabrina, Natasha, Natalie, Alex, Morgan and Sara and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Hector Eduardo.
We are blessed to have had her for 85 years. She was a caring and loving person who touched the lives of many people in the county throughout the years who came to know her as a dear friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Los Robles Hospice, father Ramon Pons of Sacred Heart and the many friends and family who helped provide direct care and comfort during her final weeks.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Monday evening March 21, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm in the Funeral Home’s Chapel. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday March 22, 2022 at 10am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Road Ventura. Interment will then immediately follow at Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery, Oxnard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (http://donate3cancer.org) .
