Roberta A. (Barry) Rizzo of Medford, passed away at the age of 83 on March 15th. She was often referred to as “Bubsie” by family and “Bobbie” by her friends. Roberta, who was born and raised in Medford, was the daughter of the late Robert and Rose (Grasso) Barry. She was the devoted wife of Giacomo “Jack” Rizzo for over fifty years prior to his passing in September 2013. When she was not working as an executive assistant at Bank of New England, Roberta enjoyed travelling the world with her husband. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with Jack at their house in Ft. Myers, Florida. She had a love for animals and children and always said they ruled in her home. She enjoyed sharing memories and stories from her life, but there was nothing she loved more than preparing a meal for family and friends. Roberta was also an avid New England sports fan. Roberta is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Helen Asaro, Rosemarie Gambardella, and Mary Parow. Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday March 18th from 5-7 PM. A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford on Saturday, March 19th at 10 AM. Those wishing to attend the service on Saturday and would like to be in the procession to the cemetery should arrive at the funeral home no later than 9:30 AM.
