Nancy Idell Hendricks Covington, 82, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Covington at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Inaha Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Tim Morgan and Michael Markham will officiate.
Mrs. Covington’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 15, 1939, in Valley Station, Kentucky, Mrs. Covington was the daughter of the late Johnny Hendricks and Lillian King Hendricks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Covington; a son-in-law, Bill Shaw; two brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Inaha Baptist Church. She loved to read and go to the beach. She was known as “Fashion Nanny” because of her yellow Mustang.
Mrs. Covington is survived by her children and their spouses, Rick and GiGi Schreck of Crittenden, Kentucky, John and Ramona Bennett of Tifton, Gordon and Penny Womble of McDonough, April Shaw, Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Connie Booth (Keith) and David Covington II and his wife Sarah of Chula; a special friend of the family, Sally Hickman of Tifton; three brothers; three sisters; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
