NEW BEDFORD - Avis Monique Gomes, 56, of New Bedford passed away March 8, 2022 at Brigham and Womens Hospital surrounded by family.
Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late Julio Gomes and mother Elizabeth Baptiste Gomes. She graduated from New Bedford High and Salter School.
She dedicated her life to her family and kids, bringing constant laughter along with selfless, unconditional love.
She is survived by her three children, Elizabeth Gomes, Francisco Gomes, and Keana Gomes; 7 grandchildren; 1 brother; John Ramos Gomes, 5 sisters; Lisa Gomes Medina, Ericka Gomes, Linda Gomes, Renee Gomes Centeio, Tonnette Gomes, several nieces and nephews, pre deceased sisters Nadine Gomes and Benvinda Gomes, Brothers Julio Gomes Jr., Raymond Gomes and Leonard Gomes.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 11 AM from International Church-Nazarene, 286 Pleasant St., New Bedford. Her celebration of life will be held on her birthday, March 31st between 2-7pm from Clube Ponta Delgada, 61 Madeira Ave., New Bedford.
