Obituary


Anthony J. (Tony) Mucciarone 71 of Franklin, MA passed away peacefully on Monday March 14, 2022 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Joanne M. (Baglioni) Mucciarone, who passed away in May of 2000. He was predeceased by his Father Anthony P. Mucciarone and Mother Eva (Canal) Mucciarone of Franklin, MA.

Tony is survived by his three daughters Lynne M. Mucciarone of Franklin, Julie A. Mucciarone of Boston and Kristine J. (Mucciarone) Taddeo and her husband Mark Taddeo of Franklin. He is also survived by his 2 precious granddaughters, Gianna Rose and Sophia Elizabeth Taddeo of Franklin. He leaves behind Sarah O’Neill and Jeffrey Mosher, many sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tony was a lifelong resident of the town of Franklin, MA and graduated from Franklin High School in 1969.  Tony attended the Engineering program and graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1972.  He dedicated his career to the town of Franklin Department of Public Works. He retired as Deputy Director of Operations in 2012.

He and Joanne married in May of 1981 and shared 3 beautiful daughters. His girls were his whole world. Tony and Joanne enjoyed Antiquing, in which Tony was an avid collector.  He and Joanne attended many Antique shows together. They also loved traveling and spent many summer days driving on Sandy Neck Beach, Cape Cod.  He and Joanne used to participate in their daughters softball leagues, traveling around the country to their many tournaments.

Tony was always up for spontaneous adventures, especially cruising in one of his many mustangs over the years.  Tony had a passion for entertaining and cooking for his family and friends, especially during the holidays. He was always cooking one of the many Italian dishes he grew up with, but was most famous for his pizza. In his retirement he adored spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He also traveled to many national parks and enjoyed getting together with his friends.

Tony was very generous, kind and touched many lives. He is very loved and will be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday March 19th, at 8:30AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square Franklin at 9:30AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org

Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
