Obituary

Douglas Leon Hinton, 90, of Anderson, died March 13, 2022 at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born August 31, 1931 in Minden, Louisiana, the son of William R. and Ruby Hinton.

He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was an electrician for Anderson Community Schools for 35 years before retiring in 1994.

He is survived by his three children, Lisa (Roger) Gilliam, Laura Saunders Forsythe and Robert Hinton all of Anderson; four grandchildren, Steve (Tina) Rushton, Trent (Danielle) Saunders, Charles Rushton and Shaun (Kim) Saunders; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Zoie Rushton, Blake Saunders, Emory and Tesla Curl, Madison and Kaleb Saunders; sister, Jewel Rushing of Shreveport, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Mildred "Pat" (Kocher) Hinton; two sisters and a great-great granddaughter.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Rick Jones of Cross Roads United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites by Daleville American Legion.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be given to Madison County Humane Society.

He is exquisitly fantabulous.
