Margaret A. “Peggy” (Kelly) Karp, died Saturday at Boston Medical Center due to complications from the disease Scleroderma. Born in Boston and raised in Waltham, Peggy was the daughter of the late Lester A. Jr. and Mary E. (Buckley) Kelly. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Waltham. She graduated from Aquinas Jr. College and continued her education at Stonehill College, where she had been employed in the Computer Science Department for 12 years until 1988. She later was employed at as the Dining Room Manager for 10 years at the LaDonna Restaurant in Mansfield, and retired in 2003 from the Chart Room Restaurant in Cataumet where she had been a hostess. Peggy enjoyed genealogy, researching her Irish heritage and became a citizen of Ireland three years ago. She also enjoyed gardening, boating and summers spent in Wareham. She was a member of the Irish Cultural Center in Canton as well as various other Irish Associations
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Karp, two sons Jeffrey Karp of S. Easton and Jonathan Karp and his fiancé Cheryl Gauvain of Peabody, five brothers, Larry Kelly, III and his wife Patti of Southport, N. Carolina, Paul Kelly and his wife Margaret of North Andover, Brian Kelly and his wife Anne of Westwood, Kevin Kelly and his wife Mika of Gilroy, CA and Robert Kelly and his wife Lori of Waltham. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
