Donna F. (Rubenstein) Porro, 73, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, peacefully at her home in Brockton.
She was the loving and devoted wife of Jerry Porro, mother of Eileen Mendes and her husband Anthony, of Taunton, and Matthew Porro and his wife Kathryn, of Bridgewater. Donna was the daughter of the late Charles and Sylvia Rubenstein and was born in Boston and raised in the Mattapan neighborhood. She is also survived by her brother, Scott Rubenstein, of Florida. She loved, cherished, and absolutely adored her 4 grandchildren, Carmello, Reese, Joshua, and Megan.
She attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester and Suffolk University in Boston. She spent the majority of her career in healthcare, working many years at the Goddard Hospital in Stoughton and the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
A resident of Brockton for 49 years, she had a true passion for philanthropy and caring for others, spending many years volunteering and fundraising for Jewish Memorial Hospital as well as at her children’s schools in Brockton.
She had a wonderful sense of humor, always looked forward to Mother’s Day brunch on the waterfront in Plymouth, enjoyed shopping - especially for her grandchildren, and loved vacationing with her family, taking many summer trips to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and the Catskills in New York.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Donna’s family on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, with a celebration of life beginning at 11:00 am, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Interment will follow in Knollwoood Memorial Park, Canton.
