Derek A. Michalewich, 45, of Westport, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Tamara (Gendreau) Michalewich.
Born in Fall River, son of Albert J. and Phyllis M. (Johnson) Michalewich of Westport, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. He was a shop manager for Wilfrid's Garage in Westport. Derek was a kind, gentle and generous person who was always looking to help others and was an avid researcher. He loved cars, the beach and music and was a DJ in the 1990's. He loved his dogs Frankie and Sweet Pea as well as all animals. A family man, he was a devoted dance dad and the perfect girl dad.
Including his wife and parents, he is survived by 2 daughters: Maeven M. Michalewich and Ruby R. Michalewich; a sister: Jocelyn A. Tavares and her husband Kenny of Westport; a niece: Cadence Tavares; and 3 nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, March 15. 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:30 - 7:00 P.M prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
