Shirley Mae Hutto, 78, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Saturday, March 12, 2022, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Lax Community Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Sammy Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Hutto was born January 13, 1944, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late William “Bill” & Olga Rae Moore Sanderson. She earned technical certificates from Fitzgerald and Douglas. She worked as an inspector in quality control at Delco Remy and also worked as a cosmetologist. Mrs. Hutto was very artistic and was skilled in quilting and crocheting as well as painting. She enjoyed bird watching and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Noah Hutto of Ocilla; four daughters: Marie & Jeff Sumner of Lenox, Tina Cato of Ocilla, Melissa & Mike Adams of Moultrie, and Wendy & Tim Shiver of Ocilla; grandchildren: Cory Hutto, Christina McClelland, Morris Sumner, Joshua McClelland, Stuart Sumner, Leah Ross, and Dakotah Shiver; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings: James Sanderson of Barnesville, Gail & Roy Cato of Broxton, and Debra & David Ricketson of Ambrose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Diann Hutto.
