Ross M. Hillson, Jr., “Chickie” passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, March 11th at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was 87. Raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Ross M. and Susan L. (Cinicola) Hillson. Ross served in the Airforce and worked many years a cement truck driver. While living in Florida, he served as a police officer with the Pembroke Pines Police Department and also enjoyed several years working as a hotel concierge. Devoted to his family and friends, Ross loved motorcycles and keeping niece cars. In his retirement he enjoyed spending some time at his local Dunkin’ Donuts and Honey Dew.
The father of the late Steven Ross Hillson, he was the brother of Thomas Hillson and his companion Jane Nagle of Saugus and Lon Hillson Sr. and his wife Marcia of Melrose. He was the uncle of Lon Hillson Jr. and his wife Cathy, Evelyn Moschella and her husband Louis and their families. He is pre deceased by his nephew Michael Hillson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Friday, March 18th from 10 AM until Noon, with a funeral service conducted in the funeral home at Noon. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
