Frederic W. Parsons, 87, of Medway, died peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Whitney Place at Medway Assisted Living. He was the beloved husband of Marie A. (Donahue) Parsons for the past 63 years.
Born in New Bedford on April 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Charles and Alice (Welles) Parsons. Fred was a resident of Medway for over 50 years. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Middlebury College in Vermont and Master's degree from Northeastern University. He proudly served in the Army for 2 years and was stationed at the Pictorial Center in New York City.
Before his retirement, he worked as an instructional designer at Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham for over 20 years. Fred was an avid photographer (parsonsprints.com) and was a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsman. In retirement he spent time in Sedona and loved to photograph the Southwest with a cadre of fellow photographers. He was a lifelong skier, a passion he shared with his children and grandsons, and was a proud member of the National Ski Patrol since the 1950’s. He also loved to sail and hike and always fortified his family and friends alike with his infamous blueberry pancakes at Stocker Pond.
His pride and joy were his two grandsons, Nicholas and Cameron.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Gregory Parsons and his wife Emma of Mendon, two daughters Jennifer Parsons of Los Angeles, CA and Christine Reffel and her husband Stephen of Holliston and two grandsons Nicholas and Cameron Reffel. He is also survived by his sister Martha Parsons-Hotchkiss of San Diego, CA. and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 15 at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
