Julie Ann Hasson (Mahon), formerly of Braintree, Arlington, and Dorchester, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2022, surrounded by family in her home in Falmouth at the age of 62. Loving wife of James Hasson (Falmouth); and mother of Jake Hasson (Easthampton), Justine Hasson (Boston), and Jessica Hasson (New York City). She is survived by her parents, John and Ruth Mahon (Seminole, FL; Arlington, MA); her siblings and their spouses, Maureen and Frank Cassidy (Methuen), John and Diane Mahon (Arlington), Catherine and Tom Geary (Mashpee), Susan and Jeff Nocera (Westwood), Nancy and Mike Flynn (Braintree), and Elizabeth and Kevin McNiff (Marshfield); and her husband’s siblings and their spouses, John and Anne Hasson (Falmouth), Jeanne Boyle (Marshfield), and Bill and Maureen Hasson (Plymouth). She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, godchildren, cousins and dear friends, all of whom she loved very much.
Julie shared infinite love and an abundance of positive energy with the world. She would say her greatest accomplishment and joy was raising her children. However, her passion and desire to help others drove numerous other accomplishments: she founded an event videography business; she organized fundraisers for various charities; and she became a yoga instructor in her 50s. Julie lived in the moment and made the most of each day, inspiring many others to do the same. With her warm, welcoming persona, she made everyone she met feel special and lit up every room she entered.
A funeral mass will be held on March 18th at 10am at St. Clare’s Parish, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree, MA. Visiting hour for friends and family at St. Clare’s at 9am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Julie’s Joyrunners raising money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute: http://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/goto/Julies_Joyrunners.
