The world lost a remarkable woman, Angelina Lambros (née Cocaine), on March 10, 2022, surrounded by the family to whom she was so devoted. She is predeceased by her husband Andrew, her parents Harry and Sophie (Economou), her sisters Anne and Angelina, and brothers George, Chris, and Teddy.
Angie was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on November 13th, 1928. After graduating from Classical High School, she attended the Memorial School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a nursing supervisor at Worcester Memorial Hospital (now UMASS Memorial Hospital). She also trained Certified Nursing Assistants at Memorial Hospital.
Angie was selfless, hardworking, and resourceful, with a calling to help anyone in need. Her passion for service included volunteering at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, a board member and volunteer at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and a devoted palliative and hospice volunteer.
She is survived by her beloved children and their spouses Steven and Kim Lambros, Sue and Jack Lane, and Elaine and Chris MacKenzie, grandchildren Brian, Jessica, Stephanie, Alyssa, Cayla, Ashley, Tess, Addison, and Andrew, and great grandchildren Cameron, Sawyer, Oscar, and Sophia. She leaves her siblings Mary Tsihlis, Sandy Stamoulis, and Harold Cocaine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 with calling hours from 10 - 11 a.m. at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 102 Russell St. in Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, also in Worcester. The family asks all those in attendance to wear masks.
