Lorraine Mae (Lingley) Spinale, 84, died comfortably on Monday, March 7, 2022
at her residence in Wayland surrounded by those who loved her dearly.
She was born in Newton on June 12, 1937 the daughter of the late John M. Lingley and
Gertrude M. (Messier) Lingley.
Lorraine was the wife for 57 years of the late James D. Spinale who died on August 9,
2017.
She was the beloved and devoted mother of James D. Spinale and his wife Robin and
Debra A. Spinale Bell and her husband Christopher of Wayland. Cherished “NANA” of Tatiana
Spinale; David Spinale and his wife Lindsay; Anthony and Timothy Spinale; Nichole Bell
DaSilva and her husband Peter and Kendall Bell. Great-grandmother of Elijah and Hope Spinale.
Also survived by her beloved dog Ginger. Sister-in-law of the late John J. Spinale.
Lorraine spent he earlier years on a farm in Weston before moving to Woburn as a young
girl. She graduated from Woburn High School. She has been a resident of Wayland for over 61
years. For over 25 years, along with her husband, she owned and operated the Wayland Shoe
Service.
In her youth she was an active participant in Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls where she
proudly was the station of LOVE. In recent years she was a participant in the Trinitarian
Congregational Church Womens Bible Study. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim
throughout the country in their motor home as well as dancing at many family events. She was
an avid knitter and particularly enjoyed all of the New England sports teams. She could be found
at her grandchildren’s sporting events with her cow bell, cheering them on, as well as theater
productions and musical concerts they participated in.
The most important aspect of Lorraine’s life was the devotion, love and time that she
spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly
remembered by all of the lives that she touched over the years.
Visitations will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C.
Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt. 30), Wayland.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm celebrating
Lorraine’s life at Trinitarian Congregation Church, 52 Cochituate Rd (Rt 27), Wayland.
Private family interment will be held in the Spinale family lot in Lakeview Cemetery,
Wayland.
