FALL RIVER… Fernando Oliva Martinez, age 61, passed away on March 6, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Fernando was son of the late Luis Oliva and Criselia Martinez.
He moved to Fall River in 1995 and established a career in maintenance. In addition to his skill in property maintenance, Fernando was also known to enjoy fixing cars.
Survivors include: companion, Monserrate Martinez of Fall River, MA; sons, Fernando Oliva Jr of Lowell, MA and Fernando Oliva of Fall River, MA; brothers, Moises Oliva Martinez of Florida, Francisco Oliva Martinez of Puerto Rico, Edwin Oliva Martinez of Florida, Angel Oliva Martinez of Puerto Rico, Wilson Martinez of Lowell, MA, Antonio Martinez of Lowell, MA, and Bruno Rios of Puerto Rico; sisters, Carmen Martinez of Puerto Rico, Hilda Martinez of Methuen, MA, Virgina Oliva Martinez of Puerto Rico and Griselia Oliva Martinez of Puerto Rico; and several nieces and nephews. Fernando was also brother of the late Juan Martinez, Manuel Martinez, and Juan Oliva Martinez.
Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 6 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723. Cremation will follow. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 13th from 4 – 6 PM, prior to the service.
