Flora (Nardone) Rosato, of Somerville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 8th at the age of 96. Born in Gaeta, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Luigi Nardone and Teresa (Mancini) Nardone.
Flora was the beloved wife of 68 years to the late Libero Rosato. She was the devoted mother of Lisa Mitrano and her husband, Erasmo "Ray" of Somerville. She was the loving Nonnie of Marisa Bortlik and her husband Christopher of Woburn, Damian J. Mitrano and his wife Elizabeth of Abington, Paul A. Mitrano and his wife Miranda of Haverhill, and Michael L. Mitrano and his wife Natasha of Taunton, and the loving “Big Nonnie” of Kayla, Jessica, Liliana, Sophia Bortlik, and Thomas, Anthony, Alexander, Adrianna, Christian and Henry Mitrano. Flora was pre-deceased by her sister, Rosa Camelio. She was also the loving aunt of Mario and Colleen Camelio of Litchfield, New Hampshire and Stephen and Mary Camelio of Groton and their families.
For many years, Flora worked as a seamstress at the menswear factory, Byron Clothing, in Somerville. Once retired, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting, but above all that, she loved to take care of her grandchildren. Later in life she thrived on spending time with all 10 great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Monday, March 14 from 9-10:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
